Mobile in-shoe force sensors

Truly wireless in-shoe force measurement.

Capture foot-ground interaction accurately, effortlessly and flexibly in the lab, clinic, field or daily environment.

What is loadsol?

In-shoe force data in real movement conditions.

loadsol enables truly wireless in-shoe force measurement in any environment and with any movement. The system helps you capture the interaction between foot and ground accurately, with the freedom required for realistic motion.

The system can be used for static and dynamic measurements to quantify the forces generated between the foot and shoe. These forces provide important information about the kinetics of the body or measured element.

Key features

Accurate data, autonomous recording and real-time feedback.

  • Current loadsol configurations are selected by sensing-zone layout: 1-zone total area, 2-zone anterior/posterior, or 3-zone regional analysis.
  • Record at 10 - 200 Hz with onboard flash memory for up to 500 h depending on selected zone layout.
  • Use rechargeable electronics with more than 60 h measuring capacity, BLE and USB-C transfer, and Bluetooth® 5 streaming.
  • Synchronize via TTL with lab equipment or external systems using optional loadsync.

Technical data

All current configurations are loadsol; select the sensing-zone layout for the measurement question.

loadsol is available as a 1-zone, 2-zone or 3-zone in-shoe force sensor. The zone layout defines whether the study focuses on total plantar force, anterior/posterior loading, or a more detailed regional split such as anterior/central/posterior or medial/lateral/posterior loading.

Measurement value

What do I get with loadsol?

The textile, soft, deformable and ultra-thin sensors are designed to enable accurate assessment of gait analysis, load analysis, maximum force analysis and related applications during natural body movement.

Real-time analysis can be performed with loadapp. Data can be stored on the device and transferred to a computer, while the mobile app displays force over time and allows force thresholds for audio or visual feedback.

loadsol applications

ACLR monitoring, Sport rehab force measurement

Use in-shoe force feedback for rehabilitation, asymmetry and return-to-sport monitoring.

Athletic monitoring

Measure ground reaction force for running, training in lab and field testing.

Fracture load monitoring

Guide partial weight bearing and post-surgical load progression.

Measurement workflow

45 sec: From shoe setup to interpretable force curves.

A typical loadsol test begins with selecting the correct sensor size and placing the ultra-thin sensor inside the footwear without changing the natural shoe-ground interaction. The electronics can stream force data live or record autonomously, which is useful when the athlete or patient must move freely outside a laboratory space.

Researchers and clinicians can analyze peak force, loading rate, impulse, stance timing, left-right asymmetry and threshold compliance. Because the measurement is collected inside the shoe, the same system can follow a person across walking, running, jumping, balance drills and sport-specific movements.

Typical outputs

Peak vertical force, force-time integral, side-to-side loading, step timing, progression between sessions and threshold events for feedback training.

Study design value

loadsol helps bridge the gap between controlled laboratory force plates and field measurements where footwear, fatigue, speed and real movement strategy matter.

Scientific context

loadsol is supported by validation, rehabilitation and sport science publications.

loadsol is being used for vertical ground reaction force validation, walking and running reliability, ACL reconstruction assessment, partial weight-bearing feedback, post-surgical monitoring and athlete performance analysis.

Validation and reliability

Several studies compare loadsol-derived force metrics with laboratory or reference measurements during overground walking, loaded walking, landing, walking and running.

Clinical monitoring

Published work covers partial weight-bearing feedback, fracture recovery, total knee arthroplasty biofeedback and patient mobility after lower-limb surgery.

Sport and performance

Research themes include ACLR return-to-sport testing, foot strike detection, Achilles tendon loading, skating performance and field-based athletic monitoring.
